World Elephant Day 2025 at Chennai High School, Beemanna Garden

  As part of observing World Elephant Day, CPREEC EIACP PC-RP, Chennai organized an awareness programme at Chennai High School, Beemanna Garden, Alwarpet, Chennai. A total of 68 students and 4 teachers attended the programme and info-graphic were distributed.

  As part of observing World Elephant Day, CPREEC EIACP PC-RP's Ooty Field Office organized an awareness program and released an info-graphic at Giri Eashwara Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Kagguchi, The Nilgiris. A total of 5 teachers and 98 students attended the programme and awareness posters were distributed.

Mission LiFE awareness program on 12th August 2025

  CPREEC EIACP PC-RP, Chennai conducted Mission LiFE awareness program under seven themes at Chennai High School, Beemanna Garden, Alwarpet, Chennai. A total of 68 students and 4 teachers participated in the event and took pledge. Awareness posters and pamphlet were distributed.

Safeguarding vulnerable heritage sites from extreme and erratic weather

Extreme and erratic weather events are damaging India’s cultural and religious heritage    sites. The structures are witnessing water seepage, crumbling building materials and the risk of flooding, prompting urgent appeals for protective measures. The Archaeological Survey of India is undertaking restoration work at some of the damaged sites. The damage affects tourism and the local livelihoods connected to it. Monks at the 11th century Tabo Monastery in Himachal Pradesh’s Spiti Valley have written to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), seeking  urgent protection  from the increasing number of cloudbursts in the arid, cold desert region.
