Indigenous traditions honour muggers amidst modern challenges

·         The annual Maange Thapnee ritual in Ponda, Goa, is an agrarian tradition symbolising the relationship between people and muggers, highlighting the cultural significance of coexistence.

·         The mugger population in Goa maintains minimal negative interactions with humans and the ritual plays a role in fostering tolerance and shaping perceptions of muggers, contributing to a culture of peaceful coexistence.

·         Increasing development and industrial expansion in Goa pose threats to both muggers and their habitat, necessitating a balance between conservation efforts and human interests.

Millet Exhibition - Video Youtube Link

  Exhibition on Millet was held from February 28 to March 01, 2024. Organised by CPREEC EIACP PC-RP, Chennai. 3 days' exhibition on millet started on 28th February, 2024. Colourful Panels on millet were displayed explaining their health benefits and uses.  on the 2nd day Cooking competition took place, recipes cooked with millet are presented by the participants and judged by the team of judges. 1st, 2nd & 3rd prize winners were awarded with a cash prize & all other participants were given gift as a token of appreciation.  Pamphlet on millet and Mission LiFE posters are distributed to all the visitors.  Selfi booth with pledge on Mission LiFE is kept and students took photographs.  This programme is supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India.
